At Gilbane, our wellness program is focused on supporting employees’ total wellbeing: occupational safety, mental/emotional wellness, financial wellbeing and physical wellness. Broadening our focus helps our employees achieve and maintain their best life at work and at home with their family and/or friends.

Safety/Occupational Wellness

Caring is one of Gilbane’s core values and is reiterated through our Gilbane Cares philosophy, which is built on the belief that everyone deserves a safe, healthy, and secure work environment. Wellness and safety are paired with the recognition that the health of our employees impacts their ability to remain safe and injury free at work.

As part of our culture at Gilbane, we start off every meeting with a Gilbane Cares moment. Each moment is a helpful tip or reminder about being safe at work and at home. We also host monthly company-wide safety calls, with topics ranging from heat-stress awareness on jobs sites to tips on how to avoid distracted driving.

Mental/Emotional Wellness

Nothing is more important than taking care of you. Without a healthy you, there is no Gilbane. We know everyone struggles with relationships, quality of life, and mental health issues from time to time. We offer a mental health and work/life service benefit through Spring Health to all employees to give you, and anyone on your insurance plan, access to the following services to help with life’s challenges:

  • A set number of free, confidential therapy sessions per year with a licensed therapist
  • A set number of free coaching sessions per year to build new skills, create healthy habits, and reach personal goals
  • Access to expert guidance to navigate work-life services such as legal or financial matters, parenting, caregiving, healthy living, career travel, and more
  • Mental wellness webinars focused on helping you create healthy boundaries, build wellbeing routines, and find best ways to support your mental health

Financial Wellbeing

At Gilbane we recognize that financial stability is critical to the overall wellbeing of our employees and their families. We cover an array of financial support services including retirement support, financial coaching, robust insurance coverage, education, and more.

The following benefits are offered only to US based employees:

  • Education around the financial benefits we offer
  • One-on-one financial coaching
  • Financial wellbeing assessments with targeted action plans including savings goal calculators, estimating your retirements funds, and help checking on your money
  • Financial wellness virtual webinars and in-person events on a variety of topics like budgeting, saving and investing

Physical Wellbeing

Physical fitness is one way to boost your overall well-being, and Gilbane encourages getting in your daily movement. From participating in daily stretch and flexes, community road races, charity walks, stair climbs and more, Gilbane sponsors activities that promote team building and physical fitness. We also have companywide and peer fitness challenges throughout the year.

Our Lifestyle Reimbursement Program allows employees to receive 50% of their eligible lifestyle expenses up to $300 per calendar year. Eligible expenses include gym/health club membership, fitness equipment, personal trainer, mental health support, grocery/meal subscriptions, national park passes, and fitness classes.

We also offer free services to help people stay healthy including:  health assessment (know your numbers), smoking cessation coaching, health coaching, flu shots, diabetes management program (including free meter and testing supplies), and a variety of training on topics like knowing risks for heart conditions.
