Construction and development can be grueling fields – the hours are long and the high level of autonomy can be stressful. Gilbane is no different, whether you are out on a construction site, traveling constantly to client meetings, or supporting operations from an office. What makes Gilbane different is the relationship that our employees share with their coworkers. Nothing is more important to us than cultivating an environment in which our people can come to work everyday and be their authentic selves. To make sure we are doing the most we can to achieve this goal, we’ve created Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to make our employees feel more included, appreciated, and heard. Each ERG has a mission and targeted demographic, but any employee can join any group as an ally. The feedback we get from our ERGs influence everything we do, from how we recruit, how we work, and how we serve our communities. Continuous improvement is in our DNA. That’s why Gilbane has a series of role-based Peer Groups and market-based Centers of Excellence that operate at both national and local levels. These groups turn innovations into standard operating procedure, document best practices into playbooks, and enable employees across the globe to build their internal networks and learn from one another.

We always look forward to our Family Days, where employees are encouraged to invite their spouses/partners, children, siblings, or anyone special to them for a tour of the office, so they can experience what your day to day work family is like.

We are also always proud to sponsor our employees’ children’s social groups, from boy and girl scout troops to little league teams and more. We want every member of your family to feel supported and loved by Gilbane; if a cause is important to you, it’s important to us.

As the national benchmarking tool measuring policies, practices and benefits pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) employees, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index is a primary driving force for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion. Data from the CEI tells the story of nearly two decades of year over year growth in the adoption of these critical policies and practices indicative of employers’ commitment to equality.
