County of Solano, Mental Health Diversion Project
LEED Silver vocational education re-entry facility
Gilbane provided construction management services for Solano County’s Vocational Program Re-entry Facility located at the Claybank campus in Fairfield. The project provides two new vocational education program buildings adjacent to the existing Stanton Correctional Facility, developed to handle 500 pre-release residents for the last year of their prison terms and provide them with job training and counseling services in preparation for their re-entry into society.
Project Overview
- The facility is 39,000 SF and includes a 9,000 SF classroom training center and a 29,000 SF vocational training center equipped with vehicle repair bays for automotive repair and dedicated space for construction trade training programs
- On-site utility upgrades to the water, sewer, storm drain, electricity, telephone/data and natural gas connections
Gilbane supports efforts to reduce recidivism and promote rehabilitation through diversion, treatment, and other efforts, with the overarching goal of narrowing a facility’s population of detainees. We help accomplish these goals with expert construction of modern correctional facility design, ensuring the right technologies, security and materials are used.
