Valleywise Maryvale Campus
Highly accelerated construction schedule delivers modernized emergency room and dedicated behavioral health facility
The Valleywise Maryvale Hospital project consisted of renovating a decommissioned, former acute care hospital into a behavioral health inpatient facility. The remodeled building includes 192-beds, along with an updated pharmacy, imaging and laboratory facilities. The original emergency department was upgraded and remodeled to provide 30 exam/treatment stations along with observation beds in an adjacent space. Major upgrades were also made to the MEP infrastructure and central plant.
Project Overview
- Original emergency department was upgraded and remodeled to provide 30 exam/treatment stations along with observation beds in an adjacent space. Major upgrades were also made to the MEP infrastructure and central plant
- Behavioral health inpatient bedrooms were completely renovated to improve patient and staff safety and provide the highest level of visibility within the existing footprint
- The finishes, furnishings and colors create a restorative, healing space while still minimizing an institutional feel
- As safety is central to the design of each unit, extreme attention was placed on incorporating anti-ligature devices, accessories and fixtures, helping to significantly reduce the risk of patient harm
“I am extremely happy with the team’s performance and without a doubt would hire Gilbane again. You guys are the ONLY reason we have a prayer to be successful. Thanks to your whole team.”
