Public-private partnership (P3) leads to fast-track delivery of schools

Kenmoor Middle School is part of an innovative public-private partnership program for Prince George’s County Public Schools with a design, build, finance, and maintenance model to deliver six new public schools by 2023. This new middle school totals 144,000-SF and serves 1,200 students in grades 6-8.

Project Overview

  • Ground floor includes the sixth-grade academic wing, classrooms, labs, administrative offices, nursing and student support functions
  • Lower level houses security, a media center, indoor gymnasium and locker rooms, performance stage, cafeteria and servery, music, band and dance rooms, loading dock and mechanical/electrical rooms
  • Second story houses the classrooms, science and computer labs and art rooms for the seventh and eighth grades
  • Includes new bus and car entryways, a parking lot, new landscaping, and multi-purpose athletic fields
