State-of-the-art new theater and education center to serve the growing needs of Gulfshore Playhouse
Gilbane, in association with Gates Construction, was selected to perform construction management at-risk services for a new theater and education center to serve the growing needs of Gulfshore Playhouse. The program of the new facility includes all the typical spaces required for a modern, regional professional theater and education center that will be seeking League of Resident Theatres (LORT) status.
Project Overview
- The design of the new facility features layered, curling shapes meant to reflect the white sand and golden sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico
- Specific elements include a 350-seat main stage theater with orchestra pit and trap room, a 125-seat studio theater, a lobby and patron lounge
- Back of house space, dressing rooms, rehearsal rooms, controls rooms, building support and an education center is also included in the scope
