College Town Rochester

College Town Rochester is a transformational pedestrian-scaled district that includes over 125,000 SF of street-level retail, featuring a two-level 20,000-SF Barnes & Noble Bookstore and a 136-room Hilton Garden Inn Hotel and Conference Center. A variety of restaurants boasting outdoor patio spaces and spacious sidewalks along with 25 shops and boutiques also complement this dynamic district.
College Town Rochester, LLC, a joint venture between Fairmount Properties and Gilbane Development Company, was selected to redevelop a 14-acre “Gateway” site at the front door to The University of Rochester’s 534-acre campus and immediately adjacent to its Medical Center, anchored by the 739-bed Strong Memorial Hospital.

- Successfully met an accelerated schedule of under 18 months
- Project involved the movement of material off-site under a strict environmental management plan, asbestos abatement, and installation of a new city street
