Student center delivery overcomes COVID-19 challenges
Gilbane delivered the award-winning student union on time and on budget despite challenges like permitting delays, nearby wildfires, and the COVID-19 pandemic that had the potential to push back the schedule more than a year.
Project Overview
- Project funded almost entirely through student fees, and benefited from significant student input throughout the design process
- An on-campus Information Campaign Team (ICT) was formed to solicit student engagement and help monitor progress of the project
- As part of the campus’ commitment to sustainability, the Student Union targeted both LEED and Living Building Challenge Petal certifications
