We respect the tradition and history of the communities we provide construction services in while also embracing innovation, cutting-edge construction technology and Lean construction practices.
As one of the largest construction management companies in the state, Gilbane’s history in Massachusetts dates back to 1946. Spanning the decades with the construction of such landmark projects as the iconic Hancock Tower and 53 State Street, to current projects such as Worcester’s new Polar Park and PTC’s new corporate headquarters, Gilbane is dedicated to serving our clients with integrity and advocacy.
Active in multiple markets throughout the Commonwealth, Gilbane’s portfolio ranges from the new biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility for Alnylam Pharmaceuticals in Norton to the 500,000 square foot office complex for Hobbs Brook Management’s at 225 Wyman Street in Waltham. Our experience in the higher education market and K-12 school programs includes award-winning Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Center of Engineering, Innovation and Sciences, and the City of Boston’s first new school in 15 years, the Dearborn STEM Academy. Additional projects include the new Cengage headquarters, the Reebok headquarters, High Street Place and the TD Garden expansion project, each delivered with precision and quality.
We are expert at the delivery of tenant interiors projects with a dedicated, experienced group that focuses exclusively on commercial space in downtown Boston. Our expertise ranges from large fit-outs of corporate office spaces, to intricate, smaller office configurations. Our interiors group consists of over 60 professionals with more than $100 million in construction volume annually. Our team delivers construction management services for projects that require fast-track approaches and schedules for clients including Latham & Watkins LLP, Google, AIG, Northeastern University, The Boston Red Sox, and State Street Bank.
In Your Community
Serving communities throughout the Commonwealth, we are proud of our designation as a leading philanthropic contributor in Boston and remain committed to Building More Than Buildings. Through fund raising via our Gilbane Boston Charity Golf Tournament, to volunteering and getting our hands and hearts involved in community efforts such as Rebuilding Together Boston, ACE Mentoring, Rose Kennedy Greenway Clean-Up Project, Children’s Trust Giving Program, and Wentworth Institute Co-Op Careers, we measure our success by our ability to give back to the communities where we live, work, play and build. Since its inception in 2010, Gilbane’s Award-Winning M/WBE & Veteran Contractor Training Program has awarded more than $15.5 million worth of contracts to graduates of this unique mentoring program that ensures minority, veteran and women-owned businesses develop tools for success, increasing competitiveness throughout the construction industry.
