We respect the tradition and history of the communities we provide construction services in while also embracing innovation, cutting-edge construction technology and Lean construction practices.
As the building contractor of the John Hancock Tower, our construction services in the Commonwealth date back to 1946. As one of the largest construction companies in the state, we serve communities throughout the Commonwealth. From the new Polar Park in Worcester, to a biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility for Alnylam Pharmaceuticals in Norton, to Higher Education and K-12 school programs for Boston’s Dearborn STEM Academy and the award-winning Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Center of Engineering, Innovation and Sciences, our success is built on our drive to exceed our client’s expectations on each and every assignment.
We are committed to the tenant interiors market with a dedicated, experienced group that focuses exclusively on interiors in downtown Boston. Our expertise ranges from large fit-outs of corporate office spaces, to intricate, smaller office configurations. Our interiors group consists of over 60 professionals with more than $100 million in construction volume annually. Our team delivers construction management services for projects that require fast-track approaches and schedules for clients including PTC, Cengage, Latham & Watkins LLP, Google, AIG, Northeastern University, The Boston Red Sox, and State Street Bank.
In Your Community
We are proud of our designation as a leading philanthropic contributor in Boston and remain committed to Building More Than Buildings. Through fund raising via our Gilbane Boston Charity Golf Tournament, to volunteering and getting our hands and hearts involved in community efforts such as Rebuilding Together Boston, ACE Mentoring, Rose Kennedy Greenway Clean-Up Project, Children’s Trust Giving Program, and Wentworth Institute Co-Op Careers, we measure our success by our ability to give back to the communities in which we live, work, play and build. Since its inception in 2010, Gilbane’s Award-Winning M/WBE & Veteran Contractor Training Program has awarded more than $15.5 million worth of contracts to graduates of this unique mentoring program that ensures minority, veteran and women-owned businesses develop tools for success, increasing competitiveness throughout the construction industry.
