Gilbane, partnering with C.D. Smith, is providing construction management at-risk services for the Baird Center Expansion project scheduled for completion in the spring of 2024. The expansion is a cutting-edge project setting new industry standards. Its dynamic design elements are unique in the convention industry, its environmental requirements meet stringent criteria, and its contractors’ qualifications are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices that benefit the local economy.

Project Overview

Adds 300,000 SF to the original space, approximately doubling the size of the convention center
Adds 24 new meeting rooms, 400-450 indoor parking spaces, six loading docks, and an executive kitchen
Features a fourth floor ballroom with space for a minimum of 2,000 guests
In addition to the expansion, the project also includes a full renovation of the existing convention center
Targeting LEED Silver certification
