Norman Y. Mineta San Jose Int’l Airport Capital Improvement Project, Phase I
New, sustainably-designed terminal building delivered on time and under budget
Despite a complete redesign after site work had commenced, Gilbane delivered this two-story, 388,000-SF terminal building safely, on time, and 10% under budget as a result of input during the feasibility phase.
Project Overview
- Heavy structural concrete foundation
- Relocations and upgrades of the site infrastructure
- 5,000-tons of structural steel, 1,000-tons of miscellaneous metal
- Extensive curtain wall and glazed roofing system
“This is the first project in the city’s history to work over one million safe hours without a lost time accident. We are very proud of this milestone.”
Katy Allen
Former City of San José Director of Public Works
