Moody Gardens

Master plan project on 250-acre sites continuously developed for over 30 years

Gilbane has served as the construction manager on all phases of The Moody Gardens Complex, facing multiple unique challenges with building on Galveston Island, and responding with proactive solutions to meet project goals. Challenges included managing precast piles reaching 80’ depth, installing dewatering systems, addressing humidity issues, providing structural fill of 5’ – 7’ per building to raise above the acceptable sea level for flood insurance, constructing water treatment facilities, and assuring wind load testing is performed on critical areas.
