Legacy Union II
Second landmark tower rises in Charlotte
With the success of the first Legacy Union tower project, the same Gilbane team was selected to build the second tower, Two Legacy Union, an office tower anchored by tenant Deloitte. Completed in November 2020, this 18-story, 412,000 SF structural concrete building is skinned in glass curtainwall, architectural precast, and stone-clad precast.
Project Overview
- Located on the southeast quadrant of the Tryon block of Legacy Union, 650 South Tryon is the second tower in the development
- The tower was designed to architecturally relate to the iconic Bank of America Tower at its base, as it forms the south enclosure of the Tryon Street Plaza, while having a more contemporary all-glass expression as it rises above the architectural precast and stone base
- This tower creates a dynamic gateway to the center city on the southern edge of Tryon Street, Charlotte’s main street and take in the surrounding city
- A pedestrian plaza allows for outdoor dining and green space with shade trees for building employees to work outside or locals to relax
