Streamlined construction process yields seamless results on multiple sites

Gilbane delivered construction management at-risk services for the City of Durham’s Department of Wastewater Management (DWM), consisting of three stunning new buildings. This project also involved taking down the current administrative and warehouse building, all while ensuring the preservation of vital wetlands.

Project Overview

  • Construction at two different sites, the first site a single-story administrative and operational facility
  • Exterior wall construction includes architectural precast concrete panels, cold-formed metal stud framing, storefront, and curtain walls
  • The primary steel structure supports all building components, and due to the grade, reinforced concrete walls will be necessary to support unbalanced fill conditions
  • The roof features a steel structure with a TPO system covering portions of the building and a vegetative roof system over the majority of the lower volumes
