The City of Dunedin and the Toronto Blue Jays enlisted the Gilbane/Turner joint venture to provide construction management services for significant upgrades to the team’s spring training ballpark and player development complex (PDC), which are situated on two distinct locations in Dunedin, FL. The projects enhanced the overall experience for players and fans alike, with a multitude of renovations and upgrades to the ballpark.

Project Overview

  • Renovations included superior seating, luxurious suites, an outfield boardwalk that offers a 360-degree fan circulation, delectable food and beverage options, an outfield bar, an enclosed bar/restaurant, and a team shop
  • The PDC located on the same site as the previous facility, is a state-of-the-art facility that includes a 120,000 SF clubhouse building with various strength, training, and rehabilitation facilities
  • The sports complex boasts six sparkling new fields, two half fields, an open-air agility field, a covered turf practice field, an inclined agility speed hill, 12 covered batting cages, 20 gang pitching mounds, and five bullpens. Each full-size field is fully equipped with bullpens, dugouts, scoreboards, lighting, and security
  • The fields also feature state-of-the-art baseball operations robotic cameras and wiring, allowing for seamless recording and remote viewing of all activities
