Training facility utilizing simulation gives students true-to-life experiences
Gilbane was selected as the general contractor for the new one-story 40,000 SF academic building for Alamo Colleges First Responders Academy. The new building is located south of the existing academy and will have approximately 320 students.
Project Overview
- New ground-up facility to serve anticipated population growth and community educational priorities
- Scope of work includes flexible classrooms, tactical training room, lobby, break room, administrative suite, locker rooms, armory, gym, and an outdoor covered area
- Large conferencing space
- 8,250 SF high ceiling tactical training area with a catwalk to observe trainees
- Extensive site work including two retention ponds
