“Renovate as new” transformation of aging school building
Gilbane provided construction management services for the “renovate as-new” transformation of West Haven High School. This three-phase construction project included gut renovation, abatement, and demolition of the remaining building. The result is a secure 21st century learning facility featuring advanced STEM classrooms and labs, a new media center, and improved public spaces for the school and community.
Project Overview
- The school was operational throughout construction; Full roof replacement with new HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Upgraded all window and door fenestrations
- Complete site reconstruction with additional parking and parent drop-off area.
All work for this project was constructed in and around operational facilities with the highest priority on safety for patients, guests, staff, and workers.
