Hollywood inspires design of downtown residential high-rise
Gilbane provided construction management at-risk services for a 307,000 SF, 17-story mixed-use residential and retail concrete structure. Located at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and La Jolla, the lens-like shape of this tower draws inspiration from the film and television industry of Los Angeles.
Project Overview
- 112 suite units consisting of 32 studios and 80 co-living units, 5 levels of above grade parking, 11 levels of residential apartments, 1 level of amenities
- Amenities on the 17th floor sky deck include a pool, hot tub, fitness center, and conference space
- Amenities on the 6th floor outdoor area include fire pits, barbecues, and seating
- The irregular, undulating façade adds visual interest and creates an individual experience in each unit while the convex profile also allows residents to easily access view corridors between the taller buildings along Wilshire Boulevard
