Indiana University Health New Downtown Indianapolis Hospital
Currently, the largest healthcare construction project underway in the U.S.
In a joint venture partnership, Wilhelm | Gilbane is providing construction management services for the Indiana University Health (IU Health) New Downtown Indianapolis Hospital. As currently envisioned, the project will encompass procedural, diagnostic, and treatment areas, inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient care, radiation oncology, behavioral health, support and ancillary spaces, and administrative and public areas.
Project Overview
- Project includes bridges to Capitol View (MOB), the IU School of Medicine, and the South Support Building
- Includes below-grade tunnels from the hospital to the School of Medicine, South Support Building and central utility plant
- Features an automated guided vehicle system, 864 in-patient rooms, 50 operating rooms, and 2 helipads
- Targeting a minimum of LEED Silver certification
