Gilbane delivers new cancer institute two months ahead of schedule
Gilbane provided construction management services for the new James M. Stockman Cancer Institute for Frederick Health Hospital (FHH). This 76,000-SF facility includes cancer center services on the first floor and medical offices on the second and third floors.
Project Overview
- The Institute has a multi-disciplined approach, providing medical oncology, surgical specialists, and support services
- Includes exam rooms, public and private infusion spaces including a pediatric bay, radiation therapies, and USP 800 certified pharmacy (approved for hazardous drugs)
- Houses the State of Maryland’s second CyberKnife system
- Outdoor “healing garden” can be viewed by patients receiving infusion therapy through full full-height storefront windows
The architect, contractor and owner worked in a collaborative fashion and exceeded our Board and Senior Leadership Team’s expectations. Cancer care can now be delivered in a world-class fashion in a world-class local setting.
