FMS team consolidates hundreds of thousands of county records

Gilbane FM Services provided upgrades to the County of San Diego’s CMMS application and restructured data in its CAFM system. The project involved exporting, reconfiguring, and uploading hundreds of thousands of records for all aspects of the County’s facilities, including personnel, buildings, space, lease, equipment, and preventive maintenance data.

Project Overview

  • Following the successful work of the first upgrade, the county requested FM Services assist the software vendor in upgrading the client/server-based CMMS/CAFM system to the new web-based IWMS system
  • This was a major investment by the county to utilize the latest technologies to manage its facility operations, including web-based reporting tools and mobile applications
  • Implementation of the new application provided tools to customize data, user interfaces, and the business rules affecting the processing of information in addition to allowing this information to interface with the County’s existing Oracle Financial, PeopleSoft HR and KRONOS timekeeping systems
  • The FM Services team continues to work closely with the county to enhance the application and implement additional features and functionality as they become available from IBM
