Rhode Island Business Unit of Gilbane Appoints Operations Leader as Part of Succession Plan for Strategic Growth

 width=PROVIDENCE, RI –July 9, 2019 – As part of its New England growth strategy and vision, Gilbane Building Company is pleased to announce that Mike Busam has been promoted to operations manager in Rhode Island.

Busam has been a valued team member of Gilbane Building Company for over 14 years having served in various capacities, including project management positions in several Rhode Island markets including life sciences, healthcare, K-12, and higher education. Most recently, he served as senior project executive on multiple projects and as a senior manager of business development since 2012. In those roles, he was instrumental in successful project delivery for clients such as Twin River Casino, CharterCare and multiple K-12 clients across the state.

“In his new role, Mike will be responsible for sustained success in the Rhode Island business unit including focus areas such as client and employee satisfaction, retention and recruitment efforts, and a continuous dedication to safety, community involvement, and workforce development initiatives,” says John Sinnott, vice president and business unit leader for Gilbane in Rhode Island.  “The operations manager is critical to achieving this success. Mike understands the landscape of Rhode Island and continues to be an advocate for construction and development in Rhode Island.”

A graduate from Brown University with a BA, Busam also holds a MBA from Bryant University and is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Rhode Island. He was recently recognized by the Providence Business News as a 40 Under Forty honoree.

Busam is dedicated to the community in which he lives and works by serving on boards of Canstruction-RI, Make-a-Wish and the RI Executive Roundtable. He resides in Smithfield with his wife of 14 years and nine-year-old son.
