Gilbane Building Company’s Senior Leader Karrie Kratz Relocates to Chicago to Support Strategic Chicago Growth
Chicago, IL – September 4, 2019 – Gilbane Building Company is pleased to announce that Karrie Kratz has relocated to Chicago as an operations manager focused on the private sector markets.
Karrie Kratz started her career with Gilbane in 1999, where she moved through the ranks on to her most recent role as an operations manager for the Glastonbury office in Connecticut. In her role as a vice president and operations manager in Chicago, Karrie will combine her business background, strong technical building skills and collaborative approach to effectively lead Gilbane’s construction field teams to execute and deliver safe and successful projects. Karrie will manage a portfolio of projects in construction for private sector clients and develop the careers of the Chicago operations team.
Karrie is a leader in several industry and community organizations that reflect her passion for improving the advancement opportunities for women in the construction industry, as well as mentoring young people in her local community to explore potential AEC opportunities. With a passion for building and operational excellence, Karrie also serves as a mentor to many individuals within Gilbane and in the construction industry.

Karrie earned a BA in Architectural Building Engineering Technology from New England Institute of Technology. She has served in several leadership roles in local community organizations including Professional Women in Construction (PWC of CT), Connecticut School Construction Coalition, Association of General Contractors (AGC) and Girl Scouts of Connecticut. Karrie and her family currently reside in Campton Hills, Illinois.
