
Yarojin Robinson
Senior Vice President, Affordable & Mixed-Income Housing
Yarojin “Roj” Robinson is Senior Vice President of Affordable & Mixed-Income Housing at Gilbane Development, as well as a member of the company’s Executive Committee. Roj is responsible for leading the company’s Affordable & Mixed-Income Housing platform, where he leverages his financial expertise and extensive experience leading deal negotiations and underwriting on affordable and mixed-income housing developments. At Gilbane, Roj oversees a portfolio of over 12k units of affordable and mixed-income housing at various stages of the development process, totaling over $5Bn in total development costs.
Since joining Gilbane as the head of Affordable & Mixed-Income Housing in 2023, Roj has overseen the financing and development of key affordable and mixed-income housing projects across New York City, including Brownsville Arts Center & Apartments (BACA), a $254 million, 283-unit affordable housing community featuring a dynamic cultural center and performance space in Brooklyn’s Brownsville neighborhood; The Peninsula, a transformation of the former Spofford Juvenile Detention Center in the Bronx’s Hunts Point community into a 5-acre campus encompassing 100% affordable housing across 740 units; and Renova West, a $192 million, 266-unit mixed-use supportive housing community anchored by a behavioral health hub for residents and the surrounding neighborhood.
Roj holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Yale School of Management, where he was a recipient of the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and served as a Director of the Real Estate Club. Additionally, he received a Juris Doctor (JD) of Law and a Master of Science (MS) in Real Estate Development from Columbia University after receiving his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
