Edward Broderick is the CEO of Gilbane, Inc., the parent entity of Gilbane Building Company, Gilbane Development Company, and its other subsidiaries. As CEO, Ed plays a pivotal role in steering the company’s overall direction and strategy, providing leadership and vision to the executive team, and pursuing new business opportunities and partnerships. He is also responsible for managing the company’s financial health, ensuring sustainable growth, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and investors.
Ed serves on the board of Gilbane, Inc. and its investment and executive committees. In 2018, he was appointed CEO of Gilbane Development Company, a position he held until January 2025. During his tenure, he was responsible for developing and executing the company’s strategic plan, managing all aspects of its operations, and overseeing new development opportunities, acquisitions, financings, and project leadership. Under his leadership, Gilbane Development Company experienced significant growth in innovative multifamily and affordable housing projects and public-private partnerships.
Over his 40+ year career with Gilbane, Ed has held multiple leadership positions and roles with both the development and building companies. His experience spans every building development and construction industry sector, from engineering and development to contracts and financial modeling.
Ed holds a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Providence College, a Bachelor of Science degree from Manhattan College, and has completed an advanced executive management program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
