Carolyn Farino
Director of Risk Management
Carolyn Farino serves as the Director of Risk Management at Gilbane Development Company, where she plays a pivotal role in crafting, overseeing, and executing comprehensive risk management initiatives for the organization. With an impressive career spanning over two decades, her expertise primarily centers around project risk solutions and providing strategic guidance.
Before joining Gilbane Development Company in 2023, Carolyn was a Senior Vice President at Lendlease, where she led the insurance team for the Americas Region with responsibility for all programs for the development, construction, investment, and communities (Military Housing-MHPI and Privatized Army Lodging) business. Prior to her role at Lendlease, she served as Vice President at The Related Companies where she was responsible for the procurement, placement, and management of Owner Controlled and Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP & CCIP), and all other development insurance placements.
Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. John’s University School of Risk Management, and she has successfully completed the INSEAD Management Development Program 2.0 Leading through Connection. She also holds several professional designations and licenses, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in Underwriting (AU), New York Property/Casualty Broker, OSHA 30.
