Steve Duvel
Senior Vice President, Operations Support Services
Steve leads Operations Support Services to ensure continuity and consistency in executing Gilbane’s projects. Steve works with Gilbane’s local offices to drive strategy in all areas of preconstruction to leverage innovative practices and technologies, reduce costs, and improve quality and service. He influences the modernization of Gilbane’s training program, serves as an Enterprise Risk Management team member, participates in field audits, troubleshoots problem projects, and provides guidance where needed. He also provides Gilbane’s Peer Group Leaders with mentoring, coaching, and support.
Before his current role, Steve led Gilbane’s New England business operations. He was responsible for the continued development, growth, and oversight of Gilbane’s Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut offices, totaling over 300 employees with an annual revenue of over $1 billion in 2022.
Steve is the co-chair of the Strategic Advisory Council of the Roger Williams University Construction Management Professional Advisory Board and serves on the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Commodores and the non-profit organization FORGE. He is a member of the Rhode Island Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America, the Construction Management Association of America, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
