Gilbane’s International Work
As you can see from the cranes in the photo above, Gilbane’s new work in Germany is off to a fast start, with our Rhine Ordnance Barracks Medical Center Replacement (ROBMCR) project quickly advancing through the foundation phase. This $1B project, performed with our German partner Zubelin, will replace an existing U.S. Army hospital, provide healthcare for U.S. military personnel in Germany, and serve as the key hub for combat casualty evacuation from throughout Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The hospital is strategically located minutes from the runway at Ramstein Air Base.
Building on the legacy of multiple successful projects, including the Air Passenger Terminal at Yokota Air Base and the Bob Hope/Amelia Earhart School at Kadena Air Base, our Japan work continues to grow healthy. An exciting project recently awarded in Japan is the $133M construction of Kinnick High School at Yokosuka Naval Base.
While not international, our work on Guam has expanded significantly in the last year and currently includes six active projects valued at more than $500M. A major success story is the recently completed Homeport for the US Coast Guard’s Fast Response Cutter, where we just cut the ribbon on a new facility. Gilbane is currently performing multiple new construction projects at Marine Corps Base Camp Blas, including an armory, battalion headquarters, housing, logistical and warehouse facilities, and other key infrastructure.
International Relocation: A Personal Story
Check out the story of Roni Abi Daher, a Gilbane Superintendent who decided a career opportunity in Germany was too good to pass up. The short video chronicles the story of Roni and his family moving from Florida to Germany, providing a very personal insight into why international work is appealing from a professional and personal standpoint.
