Having started his career on the insurance carrier side, Chris subsequently established himself as a successful independent adjuster, developing a significant book of marquis accounts before moving on to hold several important roles with several of the world’s leading brokerage firms. Most recently Chris served as the National Practice Leader – Advocacy with JLT.
“No matter the company or the position I held within the firm; I have always been singularly focused on one thing; delivering on the promise an insurance policy represents,” states Chris when asked about the wide-ranging experiences he has enjoyed in the course of his 30+ year career.
Chris has joined Gilbane’s partner in GRS Disaster Response (GRS) as the Managing Director of Insurance Services. He sees this move as an opportunity to do something impactful for his colleagues, and all parties at interest to a claim.
Working in collaboration with GRS Disaster Response can help mediate the inadequacies between insurance claims and reconstruction. Leaning on our team’s knowledge of insurance claim methods, while partnering with GRS Disaster Response is a sound approach to secure an advantageous client claim outcome, which will simultaneously serve to improve market relationships.
By not historically utilizing true Design-Build firms (which on average reduces build times by over 30%*) the claims industry has by default, increased BI business interruption (BI) losses.
Couple this with a general lack of transparency that results in the adjustment process requiring extensive audits and negotiation of incurred costs, insureds and insurers alike will benefit from the GRS model eliminating all of this entirely.
In keeping with our mission to assist our clients as partners when the unexpected occurs, our open book turn-key solution to recovery is unique to the industry and has provided clients with the fastest and most cost-effective return to normal operations.
GRS was created specifically to bring restoration contracting in line with the processes, procedures and transparent reporting methods of large, modern and well-managed construction firms. Preparation is key to any endeavor; but when it comes to property claims, the more you prepare now, the better shape you’ll be in later.
