Revitalizing Union Station: A Vibrant, Mixed-Use Destination Coming to New Haven

Gilbane Development, in partnership with MURAL Real Estate Partners, has been selected by the State of Connecticut to lead a transformative, transit-oriented development at New Haven Union Station. This $316 million mixed-use project will reimagine underutilized state-owned land into a vibrant, connected neighborhood just steps from one of the busiest train hubs in the Northeast.

Project Overview

  • 470 residential units, including 118 affordable apartments 
  • 28,000+ SF of commercial space 
  • 26,000 SF of residential amenities 
  • 294 structured parking spaces 
  • Two 16-story towers adjacent to rail, bus, and bike connections 
  • Designed to promote walkability, sustainability, and economic growth 
  • Construction will be completed in two phases. The first phase is scheduled to begin in late 2026 and be completed by early 2028. The second phase will start in August 2029 and wrap up by November 2031.
