UNF’s Science and Engineering Facilities Receives Comprehensive Renovations
Gilbane oversaw the renovation of a science and engineering classroom and laboratory building within an occupied facility on the University of North Florida’s campus. The project encompassed a variety of spaces to support the expansion of the Chemistry and Physics programs, including labs, classrooms, offices, a cold room, an autoclave, and a rooftop astronomy observatory dome. The lab spaces were significantly expanded and upgraded with state-of-the-art laboratory fume hoods and an advanced exhaust system.

- Significant upgrades were made to lab spaces with new laboratory fume hoods, an advanced exhaust system, and complete replacements of the HVAC, high purity water systems, lab gas, vacuum, and compressed air infrastructure
- Additionally, the HVAC and high purity water systems were completely replaced, along with lab gas, vacuum, and compressed air infrastructure, to accommodate the new lab equipment
