Former Umbrella Factory Transformed into a Luxury Condominium Building
This seven-story, mixed-use development in the heart of Brooklyn features luxury condominiums and vibrant street-level retail. Amenities added during the renovation include an underground parking garage, cellar storage, a fitness center, and a dog wash station. Residents enjoy private and shared terraces, balconies, and a rooftop deck offering views of Brooklyn and the Manhattan skyline.
Project Overview
- The new residences feature large, exposed Southern Pine timber beams
- It was crucial to the project’s success to maintain the building’s original appearance and its historic charm
- Gilbane’s VDC group completed laser scanning of existing conditions to verify elevations, partition locations, and piping installations
- A safe, clean, and organized site was maintained throughout the project’s duration, winning the Paul Choquette Safety Award
