School District of Manatee County, Palmetto High School Partial Replacement
Gilbane returns after original construction to enhance campus facilities
Through Gilbane’s phased approach, the Palmetto High School Partial Replacement project modernized the school’s campus. The project included a new two story, 50,000 square foot classroom building, an expanded administration building, and a new cafeteria featuring outdoor dining—all constructed on an active campus. Additional improvements included baseball stadium upgrades, renovation of the CAFE, demolition of 36,000 square feet of existing classrooms, and associated sitework, all completed on a condensed schedule to minimize disruption to students and staff.
Project Overview
- Replaced four classroom buildings with a new 50,000 SF facility
- Upgraded key campus areas including the cafeteria and administration building
- Baseball stadium improvements included a new field house, batting cage, dugouts, bleachers, press box, and support buildings
- Construction was carefully phased on the active campus with a condensed schedule to avoid impacting school operations
“Gilbane’s team was only a phone call away if I had any questions or concerns. When I called with a concern, within a few minutes someone from their team was in my office helping to answer my questions or brainstorm a solution.”
