Rock Island New Police Station

State-of-the-Art Police Station and 911 Call Center for Rock Island

Gilbane delivered construction management services for the new Rock Island Police Headquarters campus, which includes a modern police station, a 911 emergency call center, and a combined garage and support facility totaling 64,500 SF. The centerpiece of the project is a two-story, police station featuring a community room designed to strengthen engagement with residents. The campus also incorporates an indoor parking garage for 21 police vehicles and upgrades to an exist building to accommodate a crime lab, evidence storage, and Emergency Response Team spaces. The new headquarters doubles the size of the previous 1940-built facility, selected after the city evaluated 11 potential sites. Throughout construction, a live web camera allowed the community to follow progress in real time.

“All of us at the City, from elected officials to City Administration to building and trade inspectors, were impressed with the professionalism of the Gilbane staff. In addition to maintaining the schedule and demanding quality work, the onsite Gilbane staff stressed safety on a daily basis. There were zero lost workdays during the 18-month project. I highly recommend Gilbane Building Company to any other municipality, company, or entity.”
