New high school eases overcrowding and meets student enrollment growth
The new, 303,000 SF Berlin High School is located on a 90-acre greenfield site to ease the overpopulation of the three current high schools, all which have exceeded capacity.
Project Overview
- The campus includes a synthetic turf football and practice fields with a concession stand and stadium seating for 5,600
- The site includes two baseball fields, two softball fields, a practice field, four tennis courts, a shot-put/disc field, and four soccer fields
- A main gymnasium with seating for 2,686 and a 1,300-seat auxiliary gymnasium with locker rooms and administration offices
- Security features include a vestibule with protective glass, security cameras, an intercom, and doors that can be locked remotely, which provides a single point of entry where all visitors access the building
- The new facility accommodates 1,700 students; includes a media center with a collaboration studio, a band and music suite, an 800-seat auditorium with stage, a cafeteria, and student dining/commons area
