Global markets firm makes a transformative move to Boston’s Financial District
HarbourVest Partners, a leading global private markets firm, selected Gilbane to provide construction management services for their headquarters relocation project to the heart of Boston’s Financial District. The headquarters was relocated to One Lincoln, becoming the anchor tenant and replacing State Street Corporation as the building’s namesake.
Project Overview
- Establishing themselves as the new anchor tenant of the building, HarbourVest replaced State Street Corp as the building’s namesake.
- The new HarbourVest Headquarters at One Lincoln encompasses 256,068 SF across 11 full floors (17-23 and 33-36) and involves the reuse of existing elements on several floors while building from the building’s shell on others.
- Project features include a full-service kitchen, interconnecting stairs at different levels, exterior deck improvements, and a broad mix of conferencing and open office spaces.
- The team used Gilbane’s Nextera Robotics Platform and OpenSpace for daily site documentation, layout assistance, and progress updates for the owner.
- The project team secured a Certificate of Occupancy two weeks early by using tools like Touchplan for pull planning milestones and by procuring long-lead materials and equipment.
