DCYF Female Youth Residential Facility
Rhode Island’s newest residential facility for young women
The new residential housing facility will provide an in-state option for the behavioral health treatment of young women and serve the goal of family reunification. The residence will feature two eight-bedroom suites, activity rooms, classrooms, a media center, visitor space, and staff offices. Recreational spaces will include a fitness center, gym, multi-use outdoor courts, and a sports field, as well as significant development of the 17-acre site.
Project Overview
- The project scope includes the construction of a new 35,000 SF residential facility and the development of 17 acres at the Ladd Center in Exeter, Rhode Island
- The new facility will feature 16 residential beds for females ages 13 to 18, educational classrooms, clinical rooms, indoor and outdoor recreation areas, a media center, and support spaces for youth, staff, and families
- A primary goal of the project is to create a safe facility with an overall residential feel and environment
- The project includes significant land development on state-owned property
