New elementary school ushers in 21st -century learning
Gilbane is providing construction management services for the new Gladstone Elementary School in Cranston, RI. This project is one of the five core building projects identified in a five-year improvement plan approved by RIDE SBA for Housing Aid State Reimbursement.
Project Overview
- The new facility will offer 21st-century learning needs to meet current educational program requirements for over 798 students in grades K-5 and will exceed former sustainability standards
- During the construction process, students and faculty will be relocated to a temporary school location so that construction can progress on the site’s densely populated area
- Included in the scope are outdoor learning spaces, a bus drop-off area, and play space
- Designed to combine learning and community engagement
