Brewery expansion increases capacity significantly, automates state-of-the-art brewery

Located near Ciudad Obregon, Mexico, Constellation Brands’ (CBI) Obregon project brewery expansion increased production capacity significantly, transforming the facility into an automated, state-of-the-art brewery reflective of modern technology and the surrounding landscape. This brewery produces Corona Extra, Corona Light, Modelo Especial, Pacifico, and Victoria brands for export to the U.S. market. 

Project Overview

Gilbane Alberici Construcciones Mexico (GACM) provided construction management services for the 100,000-square-meter expansion
The expansion included construction of a new brewery building, warehouses, packaging building, and logistics buildings
Expansion of rail lines and water and wastewater plants; parking lots, utilities, and site services
The new brewery building included both hot block (grain-receiving facilities, silos, a milling tower, and brewhouse) and cold block (yeast/CIP facility, fermentation vessels, filtration, and a bright beer tank facility) construction.
