Connecticut State Office Building Renovation and New Parking Garage

History and modern design collide at the Connecticut State Office

Gilbane provided construction management for the Neoclassical-inspired Connecticut State Office Building, located in downtown Harford’s historic district and across from the Legislative Office Building and Connecticut’s Federal Courthouse. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the adaptive reuse of the building included the preservation and restoration of the decorated Indiana Limestone façade and the complete renovation and reconfiguration of the interior with more modern office layouts and amenity spaces. Various other aesthetic details were beautifully restored to their original condition.
