Leveraging clear communication and 3D logistics to overcome complex underground utilities
The complex project included indoor and outdoor classrooms and labs, a multipurpose room for interdisciplinary classes, lectures, and exhibit space. Programs include: 2D drawing and painting, 3D sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, and digital and print photography.

- The project included sustainable building materials, finishes, and natural ventilation
- Gilbane utilized a 3D logistics plan to evaluate and mitigate schedule conflicts as well as communicate any challenges to the client and the entire project team
The new College of the Desert Visual Arts Building is the anchor of a reconceived art district and ties the facility to the academic community.
