State-of-the-art Biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility built through design-assist partnering

Alnylam’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility provides a modular and reproducible approach for development and commercialization RNAi therapies. It is comprised of both small scale and large scale GMP manufacturing suites, a supporting tank farm, modularized central utility plant, GMP storage warehouse with loading dock, and a two-story quality control and administration space. Intense BIM and trade contractor coordination amongst Gilbane, Jacobs architects and MEP staff, along with a variety of key trades took place onsite in the trailer conference rooms.

Project Overview

VDC team modeled 100+ complex distinct systems and over $1 million prefabricated skids
The team coordinated extensive prefabricated process piping to run clean and dirty process piping throughout the facility in nine 40-foot-long, 20-foot high elevated tracts that circulate throughout the entire facility
Clean portion of the pipe racks include WFI (water for injection) which is high quality, cell culture grade water that complies with United States Pharmacopoeia monographs
