Annie E. Fales Elementary School

First Net Positive Energy Public School in Massachusetts

Annie E. Fales Elementary School is the first facility in Westborough to support the town’s goal of being carbon-emissions-free by 2035. With academic spaces organized into distinct “neighborhoods” represented by the local ecosystem, the 70,000-SF, two-story facility accommodates 400 students in kindergarten through third grade. Built on a challenging, sloped site, the intentionally compact building design allows natural light to reach all interior spaces and utilizes the roof area for a 25,000-SF photovoltaic system.
