Historic office building on the National Mall gets an updated interior
Cushman & Wakefield and Ponte Gadea selected Gilbane to renovate the lobby and amenity spaces of a historic, occupied office building. The renovation included replacing all lobby finishes, creating new conference spaces and a secondary mezzanine lobby, upgrading the HVAC and lighting, refreshing lower-level amenity areas, improving the elevators, renovating the restrooms, and installing new exterior signage. Additionally, extensive structural reinforcement of an existing slab was necessary to support a serpentine staircase that connects the lobby and the mezzanine.
