Gilbane, as part of a limited liability company formed with Environmental Chemical Corporation (ECC) and Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Company (SMCC), was awarded a $990 million indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) multiple award construction contract (MACC). This is a key strategic contract as our company continues to build our presence on Guam and in the Pacific.
All work under the MACC will be initiated by task orders that are competed among a select bidders list under the contract. A total of five firms have been chosen to compete over the five-year life of the contract. The work being performed under the Multiple Award Construction Contract involves a broad range of new construction, repair work and renovations and will include heavy and civil engineering projects requiring contractors to accomplish a wide variety of individual construction tasks.
The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: barracks/dormitories; administrative, communication, educational, medical/dental/hospital, dining, industrial, warehouse, ranges, and operational/training facilities; roads, streets and bridges; site utilities/infrastructure dredging; and aviation and other base-development facilities with some of these projects requiring the incorporation of sustainable features.
Most of the work will be performed in the Territory of Guam and possibly other areas under the cognizance of the NAVFAC Pacific.
