William J. Gilbane III to Join Board of Gilbane, Inc.; Strategic New Leaders Join Gilbane Building Company
New York, NY – January 8, 2020 – As part of the company’s strategic plan for growth, Gilbane Inc. today made key leadership announcements with the planned appointment of William J. Gilbane III to the board of Gilbane, Inc. and the addition of new executive leadership to Gilbane Building Company. Rich Cavallaro is joining Gilbane Building Company as executive vice president leading the New York division – comprised of the New York City, Upstate New York and New Jersey business units, and the New England division. Grant Gagnier is serving as vice president and New York City business unit leader.
This year, William J. Gilbane III (Bill), a fifth-generation family member who has served as senior vice president – New York division leader since 2012, will join the board of directors of Gilbane, Inc. – the parent company of Gilbane Building Company and Gilbane Development Company. Bill will bring the leadership and knowledge he developed from growing one of the most dynamic divisions at Gilbane to his new board role. As a board member, he will continue to promote and scale the synergies between Gilbane Building Company and Gilbane Development Company.

New Executive Leaders Join Gilbane Building Company
On Monday, January 6, Rich Cavallaro and Grant Gagnier began their new roles as executive vice president and vice president, respectively. Rich Cavallaro is an accomplished construction leader who served as a chief executive officer for the last 10 years, most recently leading Skanska USA Civil. During his tenure, the business doubled in size and he succeeded in producing and executing some of the largest infrastructure projects in the country, while demonstrating his skills as a proven safety champion and business operations leader. Prior to that role, Cavallaro was chief executive for Skanska USA, leading business operations to greater efficiencies, building the company’s US brand and serving as an active member of the global senior executive team.

Grant Gagnier has a strong record of success as a construction executive, leading projects of various size and scope across nearly every market segment. His prior role was senior vice president, head of operations for Lendlease’s Americas Construction Business. He also served as chief operating officer for Suffolk Construction’s New York region where he was responsible for overseeing governance, strategy, operations, business support, company advocacy and brand expansion.
Gagnier is a passionate advocate for the use of state-of-the-art technologies, virtual design and construction techniques, and Lean principles to improve the project experience. He has proven experience delivering projects on time and on budget, driving profit and growth for the businesses he runs.
