Jupiter, Florida – April 23, 2019 – Gilbane Building Company recently celebrated major milestones in construction and renovation projects at Jupiter Medical Center’s new Anderson Family Cancer Institute and its new five-story patient tower.

The topping out ceremony, which was was attended by representatives from Jupiter Medical Center, Gilbane Building Company and subcontractor partners, took place on the project site on the hospital’s main campus in Jupiter, Florida. Hospital and Gilbane staff spoke during the event, which also included a beam/column signing ceremony to commemorate the special occasion. Lunch and raffle prizes were provided for subcontractor partners on both projects as a thank you for the hard work the team has put forth to reach this milestone.

“This event is very exciting for the entire project team and for the local community, with the positive impact these facilities will make on expanded healthcare services in Jupiter.” said Jason Martin, Gilbane Building Company Senior Project Executive. “The topping out is a critical milestone and is a great opportunity to recognize the tremendous efforts of everyone involved in the project, including Jupiter Medical Center, the A/E Design Partners, and the subcontractors.” 

Gilbane is providing design-build services for the three-story, 58,000-square-foot Anderson Family Cancer Institute on the Jupiter Medical Center campus. The new facility will provide convenient access to multidisciplinary, evidence-based care such as that found in the nation’s most prestigious health care institutions.

The Anderson Family Cancer Institute is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2019. Renovation of the existing 18,000-square-foot Foshay Cancer Center, which is adjacent to the cancer institute, will be completed in June 2020.

In addition, Gilbane is providing construction management at-risk services for the five-story patient tower, which will include the Level II De George Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Tansky Concierge Suites, patient rooms and office space. Construction of the tower is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
