Innovative Building Provides A Collaborative Space for Multiple Healthcare Professions

width=Tampa, FL – September 20, 2019 – Gilbane Building Company is pleased to announce the completion of the new state-of-the-art Allied Health Building for Hillsborough Community College Dale Mabry Campus. On Friday, September 20, officials from HCC, Gilbane Building Company, Harvard Jolly Architects and the community came together to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the new campus addition.

This new 60,000 SF, three-story building houses Hillsborough Community College’s nursing, emergency medical services, medical lab technician and respiratory care therapy programs. The building was designed and equipped to include a simulated hospital so that multiple programs communicate together to replicate conditions found in real-life situations. The scope of work consisted of new classrooms, medical laboratory technology, computer information system, and physical therapy spaces, as well as administrative offices, conference rooms, nursing stations, simulated hands-on laboratories and lecture hall.

“It was a great privilege for Gilbane to collaborate with the HCC facilities staff, Dale Mabry Campus leadership, design team and trade contractors. These partnerships resulted in a modern health-care learning facility that will serve the students for years to come. Gilbane’s project team was able to meet all project challenges and deadlines, while maintaining our high standards of safety which are a testament to our commitment to excellence.” Matt Leake – Gilbane Building Company Project Executive

In addition to the New Allied Health Building, a central energy plant expansion and infrastructure upgrades were completed. HCC will also enjoy an updated entrance for the campus as well as generous parking enhancements.
