Gilbane Building Company Celebrates Groundbreaking of New Elementary School, Junior High School and Athletic Stadium for Tomball ISD

Houston – June 05, 2019  Officials from Tomball Independent School District, Gilbane Building Company, PBK Architects and program manager Lockwood, Andrews and Newman, Inc. (LAN) came together on Wednesday, May 29 to celebrate the official groundbreaking of a new elementary school, junior high school and athletic stadium that will provide future students with an enhanced learning environment.

Ranked the #1 builder of K-12 schools in the country by Building Design + Construction (BD+C) Gilbane is proud to have been chosen by our repeat client, the Tomball ISD, a rapidly growing school district, for a multiple building and phased project award.

Tomball ISD plans to build on the same site, a new elementary school (900 to 1,100 students) a new junior high school (1,500-2,000 students) along with a District Athletics Complex which includes a new 10,000-seat stadium. The facility will be elevated to be a showcase “best in class” project to align with the vision of Tomball ISD. In addition to the three facilities will be the construction of a wastewater treatment plant and roadway construction, each critical components for these projects. Gilbane began preconstruction services in early 2019 and construction is now underway on this $136 million project, with phased completions of the project facilities slated for fall of 2021. width=
