Gilbane Building Company Celebrates Groundbreaking of Four New Elementary Schools for Fremont City School District
Fremont, Ohio – May 29, 2019 – Officials from Fremont City School District, Gilbane Building Company, SSOE/Munger & Munger, Ohio Facilities Construction Commission and students came together on Wednesday, May 22 to celebrate the official groundbreaking of four new elementary facilities that will provide a modern learning environment for future generations of students.
Gilbane is serving as construction manager at-risk for the construction of four new elementary schools. Each elementary school will be 56,000 SF and will house PK-5 students. The project includes abatement and demolition of the seven existing elementary schools, and each new school will be constructed on an existing site. The program is set to be completed by the start of the 2021 school year.

In addition to the elementary schools, Gilbane is also providing construction manager services for the new high school. The school will be a 192,000 SF facility and includes 8,000 SF of space for a career technology center and a new performing arts center. Construction of all five schools will be completed in 2021.
